Parents, Athletes and Coaches,
At D-BAT Gaithersburg we are committed to the health and safety of all who enter our facility. With the help of our partner MedStar Health, we have established best practices to help us provide the safest environment possible as we face the ongoing threat of COVID-19. Based on MedStar’s COVID-19 Return to Sports Medical Considerations, D-BAT Gaithersburg will implement the following protocols for our facility, effective immediately and until further notice:
Face Coverings – In accordance with the CDC’s recommendation and Maryland State Executive Orders, guests are required to wear a mask or face covering.
Hand Washing – The CDC and MedStar recommend frequent hand washing; this can be done in the four restrooms in our facility. Hands-free hand sanitizing stations are located at each of our 22 cages and throughout the Pro Shop, Lounge, and Gym.
Social Distancing – In public areas, please maintain at least 6 feet distance.
Cleaning and Disinfecting – Ecolab, which provides scientifically-developed disinfectants for hospitals and laboratories, is supplying D-BAT Gaithersburg with disinfectants and cleaning supplies that kill germs and bacteria within 30 seconds. Athletes should wipe down all equipment and machines before and after use, with wipes provided throughout the facility.
Health Monitoring – Everyone that enters the facility MUST stop at the front desk to have their temperature taken. Coaches and Staff are required to answer a symptoms evaluation provided by the CDC, every time they enter the facility. Anyone with: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, the new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestions or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea should remain at home.
In addition, we have taken the following precautions:
All doors inside the facility will be propped open
Water Fountains and Air Hand Dryers will be disabled
Capacity in the lounge will be limited to 10
Anyone with a positive COVID result – including family members – must report the result immediately to D-BAT Gaithersburg management and refrain from visiting the facility for a minimum of 3 weeks
